Sunday 27th August – walk ** The Grove in Felixstowe – Sunny start then cloudy with heavy rain.

After yesterdays unexpected afternoon windsurf foil I had no plans for today, I was tempted by a sail at Levington but the wind was marginal and in the end was glad I didn’t go as it tipped it down with rain with no wind forecast for days:( So usual morning at home exercises and gardening with lunch at the new patio furniture. Then we decided to walk to the woods at The Grove. Probably a bit of a mistake as there was some menacing dark clouds approaching. In fact, it started to rain when we were nearly at Abbey woods, quite hard in fact! We sheltered under the trees for awhile but decided to carry on in the heavy rain. The paths soon became like stream and we have never seen so much water in the brook that runs through the Grove. The rain eased as we walked back through the town but we were already pretty wet! We made it to the cliff top before turning for home to get out of our wet clothes before a welcome cuppa and cake. We then had a nice video chat with our Grandson as the rain returned!
